What are your plans for Memorial Day weekend? There is a lot going on in The Woodlands, so get out and enjoy some time with your family, friends, and neighbors!
Start the weekend off right with brunch at Morton’s Grille. This well-known restaurant serves a broad brunch menu Saturdays and Sundays from 11am until 3pm. Their Jumbo Lump Crab Cake Florentine is heavenly and tastes even better when paired with one of their signature brunch cocktails.
The Houston Food Truck festival is May 26 from noon to 7pm. Featuring over 20 food truck vendors, bounce houses for the kids, and live music and DJs, this event is sure to be a fun all-day affair. Entry tickets are just $5 and parking is free. This event is located on Richmond Avenue in the Galleria Area.
Cap the evening at a Waterway Nights at Waterway Square concert. Free and family-friendly, these concerts run from 6:30 to 8:30pm which makes for perfect timing for a picnic dinner. On May 26 the band Face This Way will perform classic rock hits.
The Woodlands Christian Youth Theater will perform Roald Dahl’s James and the Giant Peach at various times over the holiday weekend. Check out these fantastic young actors as they showcase their talents. Performances will be held at the Crighton Theater in Conroe.
The annual Memorial Day Festival will take place from 4pm until 9pm at Town Green Park off Lake Robbins Drive the day before, on Sunday, May 27. This free event is perfect for the whole family and features two bands performing fun hits all evening long, tributes to our service men and women, strolling entertainers and lots of vendors and concessions. If you’re feeling generous, bring a care package for our troops and drop it off at the onsite donation center.
The evening finishes with a bang – literally – as fireworks will light up the sky choreographed to patriotic music.
However you choose to relax on Monday, just enjoy the day off of work and remember those who gave their lives for our freedom. Happy Memorial Day!
