Every year the Real Estate Talent Show chooses several charities to support with the proceeds from the event. Keller Williams The Woodlands and Magnolia created the Wilona Dyson Charitable Foundation as a way to give back to fellow real estate agents and their communities during times of need. The Foundation benefits agents and their families who fall upon sudden hardship or are facing an emergency situation. This year one of the charities is ‘Hands of Justice’ a Christian anti-trafficking non-profit in the North Houston area.
Hands of Justice strives to empower others by supplying them with the knowledge to help prevent human trafficking, to provide awareness of the warning signs and to give an understanding of the overall facts in the communities that they live in today. They seek to help others through awareness, outreach, and survivor support groups and scholarships. They also partner with organizations in Houston, and the surrounding cities, that are serving either survivor of human trafficking or are on the front lines of helping those still being trafficked.
In order to create awareness, Hands of Justice creates and sponsors many related events throughout the year. These include training seminars, support groups, teachings in schools, press conferences and more.
The non-profit also provides scholarships to survivors of human trafficking to those who will benefit the most from the aid. However, because the need is so great, the funds are not always enough to help everyone. That is just part of the reason why we are so excited to be donating to Hands of Justice this year!
The organization operates under the scripture, “He brought them out of darkness,
the utter darkness, and broke away their chains.” (Psalm 107:14) Ultimately, their mission is to empower people to end modern-day slavery. If you’re interested in learning more about the organization, or you want to get involved, click here to learn more!
