The Woodlands is known for its amenities – tree-lined streets, incredible parks and walking trails, great schools and quality of life. Now, The Woodlands can add great dining to the list. Woodlands’ residents often lamented that the area did not offer the wide-scale variety of restaurants such as midtown, the Heights and other locales in Houston. However, with the population boom in The Woodlands, the restaurant landscape is changing and The Woodlands is poised to become a major dining destination.
Restaurant Row, located on the northeast shore of Lake Woodlands in Hughes Landing, includes some top-notch eateries to please even the most finicky of palates. Local Pour, recently opened its second Greater Houston area location on Restaurant Row. Boasting an incredible selection of 48 craft beers on tap, Local Pour also pays homage to our home state with a variety of Texas suds and wines. The restaurant also boasts an eclectic menu featuring fresh ingredients from local farmers, unique cocktails and nightly entertainment.
Other restaurants being readied to open on the Row include California Pizza Kitchen, Del Frisco’s Grill, Escalante’s and Truluck’s.
California Pizza Kitchen boasts authentic California-style cuisine. Chefs prepare food from scratch every day using flavors from over 175 fresh ingredients. Their signature pizzas are created from dough, which is hand-tossed and then baked to perfection in an open hearth. Besides pizza, California Pizza Kitchen is known for its distinctive pasta dishes and salads in a relaxed dining environment.
Escalante’s Fine Tex-Mex and Tequila offers made-from-scratch Mexican food made from family recipes along with handcrafted margaritas. Patrons can enjoy the restaurant’s signature fajitas, enchiladas and empanadas while dining on the patio overlooking Lake Woodlands.
Known for its fresh seafood and steaks as well as American comfort food such as pork chops and roast chicken, Del Frisco’s Grille is an upscale bar and grill featuring modern American cuisine and handcrafted cocktails. Each Del Frisco’s menu includes regional favorites using locally sourced ingredients and features the finest local flavors. The restaurant’s other Houston location was recently named to OpenTable’s 100 Hottest Restaurants in the country.
This will be the second Houston location for the upscale Truluck’s Seafood Steak & Crab House. Truluck’s is best known for its fresh Florida Stone Crab. Since the restaurant owns its own fisheries, they only exclusively work with a group of dedicated crabbing professionals on the Isle of Capri just outside of Naples, FL. Additionally, Truluck’s follows all Ocean Conservancy guidelines and environmental stewardship and sustainability drives all aspects of the restaurant’s operations, ensuring that patrons receive the freshest seafood without harming the marine ecosystem.
For the meat-lover, Truluck’s also serves 100% antibiotic- and hormone-free all natural beef, pork and lamb. The restaurant only works with farmers that raise livestock traditionally and humanely, and feed all animals only the highest-quality 100% vegetarian feeds. All animals are raised exclusively on environmentally sustainable U.S. family-owned farms and ranches, bringing Truluck’s customers the best-tasting, sustainable ingredients that make sense for the plate, the palate and the planet.
