There’s about to be a new neighborhood in town – The Woodlands Hills community is breaking ground and expecting to have the first homes ready for move-in in early 2018. Located a few miles north of The Woodlands and on the west side of Interstate 45, The Woodlands Hills is a Howard Hughes Corporation master-planned community.
Some of the planned amenities for this area include 20 neighborhood parks with a huge Village Park encompassing hiking and biking trails and lots of green space. A fitness center available to residents of The Woodlands Hills will be built with fields and pools for recreational sports and community events.
Plans for about 4,500 single-family homes have been laid out. With large oil and gas corporations as well as expanding medical facilities in The Woodlands and Conroe, demand for this housing is expected to be strong. Convenient access to I-45 and the Grand Parkway puts The Woodlands Hills in a prime location for commuters to other parts of town as well.
With acreage in The Woodlands proper running low, the higher prices for homes on big lots are driving some buyers out of the market. The real estate just up the road will provide slightly lower land costs with many one-acre properties available.
The Woodlands Hills will cover about 2,000 acres and is one of the smallest communities that Howard Hughes Corporation has developed thus far. For reference, The Woodlands is about 28,000 acres.
Residents of this new community will enjoy new shopping centers, libraries and other public buildings. Schools will be in the Willis Independent School District, and currently the neighborhood is zoned to Meador Elementary, Brabham Middle School and Willis High School.
